Dina Vovsi is a Brooklyn-based director, performer, and producer committed to developing and devising new plays. Dina has directed at The Culture Project’s Women Center Stage, FringeNYC, The Muse, Working Theater, Unboxed Voices, New York Madness, Complete Theatre Company, Ingenue Theatre, and The Glass Eye. Assistant directing: Cherry Smoke (Working Theater), Jesus in India (Ma-Yi), The Electric Baby (Quantum Theatre), White Hot Black Spice (New Dramatists). Current & upcoming directing projects include the ensemble-created everything’s whispered (for now), a play with puppetry and music by Kevin Kautzman called Vasilisa Most Lovely, a site-specific untitled play in a teahouse, and with Working Theater, directing several short plays by Joe Roland commissioned by Local 3, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, in Flushing, Queens for their Youth Conference. Dina is a co-founder and co-curator of the Working Theater Directors Salon, now in its fifth year. Dina has worked as a literary manager, producer, associate producer, and marketing consultant at Working Theater, Page 73, Waterwell, Darling & Company/The New School, terraNOVA Collective and Columbia University. Dina is a member of the New York Madness Directors’ Unit, the 2014 Lincoln Center Directors’ Lab, and is an A4A Grant Recipient. Alumna of the University of Michigan.
