Illana Stein is originally from Fort Worth, Texas. NYC credits include: A Midsummer Night’s Dream (The Queens Players, The Secret Theatre), The Offering (Network One-Act Play Festival, Winner: Best Play), or what she will (FringeNYC 2012, Winner: Overall Excellence in Directing), Stop Kiss (Sanguine Theatre Company). Most recently she directed staged readings of Lady Frederick with the Pearl Theatre Conservatory and Fiona Kyle’s MFA Thesis: Rest is Silence (Harvard University, A.R.T. Theatre). She has directed for NYC Companies: Writopia Lab, UglyRhino:TinyRhino, Fresh Produce’d, Co-Op Theatre East, and part of the Working Theatre Directors Salon. Regional credits: Assistant directing at Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Yale Repertory Theatre, Hangar Theatre Lab, Shakespeare Theatre of NJ, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, and 3 years as Assistant to the Artistic Director at Cincinnati Shakespeare Company. Ms. Stein was a member of 2012 Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab and selected for the Old Vic New Voices Best of British workshops in NYC.
